Data Protection

Data protection by Finanz Informatik Technologie Service

The responsible agency is Finanz Informatik Technologie Service GmbH & Co. KG (also termed "FI-TS" in the following); for more information and contact details, please see the Site Info section.

The protection of personal data is an important concern for us. Therefore, we adhere strictly to the applicable laws on data privacy and data security. Here we explain which information we may under certain circumstances collect, how we use this information, and to whom we might make it available.

Data collection and utilization to enable communication and use

When you access our websites via telecommunications services, communication-related data (e.g. Internet protocol addresses) and usage-related information (e.g. the times at which the session starts and ends, and which telecommunication services you use) are created automatically by technical means. Such information can potentially be used to derive conclusions on personal data. We capture, process and use your communication and usage information to the extent necessary, and in accordance with the legal provisions governing data protection.

Data for statistics and optimization, analysis services

When you access our websites, information that is not personally identifiable (i.e. not obtained through registration by the user) is automatically collected on a regular basis e.g. type of Internet browser and operating system, domain name of the website from which you arrived, number of visits, average time spent on site, pages viewed. We use this information for statistic analysis of the appeal of our websites and to improve their service and content.

Reach and analysis services are also used (currently Piwik, www.piwik.org), which set cookies (see below), or can capture user profiles under a pseudonym. You can object to pseudonymous use of your data at any time (e.g. by means of IFrames provided for this purpose). The pseudonymous user profile will never be linked with personal details of the pseudonym holder.

Cookies

When you visit one of our websites, it is possible that we will store information on your computer in the form of cookies.  Such information enables you to be recognized automatically on your next visit. For example, cookies enable us to adapt a website to your interests, or to store your passphrase, meaning you need not enter it each time you visit the site. If you do not wish us to recognize your computer, please adjust your web browser settings accordingly. You can set your browser to delete cookies from your computer hard disk, block cookies altogether, or warn you before a cookie is saved. Please note that certain site functionality might then be restricted.

Collection and use of personal data

We do not collect any personal data via our website (e.g. names, addresses, phone numbers or e-mail addresses) unless we are provided with such data voluntarily by you – for example when you register on the site or submit an application – or when you have given your consent to the collection of such data, or when relevant legislation pertaining to the protection of your data permits such collection. We use the personal data disclosed by you in accordance with the designated purpose, for example in order to reply to your queries, process your orders or provide you with access to certain information or offers.

We will only use your personal data for advertising or market research (advertising) if you have given your express consent (e.g. for creating and sending selected information (advertising) by post or e-mail).

You can elect to opt out of allowing use of your personal data for advertising or market research by post or e-mail at any time, or revoke your consent for effect in the future. We naturally respect your wishes if you do not desire to have us use your personal data to assist in promoting our customer relationship (e.g. for direct marketing or market research). We shall not sell your personal data to third parties nor market it in any other way.

Notwithstanding this rule, your data can still be collected and used in circumstances expressed permitted by the law, such as:

  • to identify, isolate or eliminate faults or errors in telecommunications systems or
  • by order of the competent authorities, to provide information in individual cases on stored data, to this extent this is necessary for law enforcement, civil protection by the state police authorities, or to fulfill statutory constitutional protection duties at federal or state level, also imposed by the Federal Intelligence Service or the Military Counter-Intelligence Services, or for the purpose of enforcing intellectual property rights.

Data security

We use standard security procedures, including encryption, passwords and physical security, to protect your personal data against unauthorized deletion, modification, loss, disclosure or other unauthorized access. Please contact us at kundenpostkorb[at]f-i-ts.de if you have questions about the security of our website.

Use of Facebook Social Plugins

The FI-TS website uses social plugins of the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins are identifiable by one of the Facebook logos (white "f" on a blue tile, or a "thumbs up" sign), or we have designated them as such with the label “Facebook Social Plugin”. Facebook has published a list of the social plugins and their appearance at: developers.facebook.com/plugins.

If you visit one of our websites which has such a plugin, your web browser will establish a direction connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transferred from Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the website by your browser. We therefore have no influence on the scope of data that Facebook captures with the help of this plugin, and the following information is provided to the best of our knowledge:

Through the integrated plugin, Facebook receives the information that you have visited the page in question on our website. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can attribute this visit to your personal Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins (by clicking “Like”, for instance, or entering a comment), this information is sent directly from your browser to Facebook. If you do not use Facebook, the service can still collect at least your IP address and save it.

The purpose and scope of data collection, further processing and use of this data by Facebook, and your rights and options for privacy settings, are stated in the Facebook privacy notice at: www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you are a Facebook member but do not wish Facebook to collect data about you via the FI-TS site and link it with your data on Facebook, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.

FI-TS derives no benefit from the acquisition of data by Facebook, and does not store the data which is collected.

Use of other plugins

Our websites may also contain other plugins. Each plugin is the responsibility of its respective provider (e.g. Twitter, Google). As with the Facebook plugin, we therefore have no influence on the amount of data that the provider captures with the help of this plugin, or how the provider uses this data.

If you are not yet a customer of the provider of a plugin, and/or have not (yet) given your consent to data collection and use, we recommend that you do not use or click these plugins.

However, if you are already a user of the services of the plugin provider, please refer directly to the information published by the provider concerned about the nature, extent and purpose of the collection and use of personal data ,and on the possibility of your personal data being processed outside the EU.

Links to other sites

The websites of F-I-TS contain links to the sites of other providers. We are not responsible for the data protection practices or the content of these other websites. When using services provided by third parties (such as Facebook, YouTube, Flickr), please note the privacy policies of those sites.

Disclosure, deletion and blocking of data

At any time you request, we will inform you without delay and free of charge which information we hold about you in written or digital form. Deletion or blocking of such data is carried out in accordance with the law. For questions please contact our Data Protection Officer: Michael Schlundt, Finanz Informatik Technologie Service, Goethering 30, D-63067 Offenbach am Main.

Change to data protection information

As the Internet develops, we too are constantly adapting our data protection policy. Changes will be incorporated into these terms on an ongoing basis, as necessary. Therefore, you should check this page periodically to keep up to date with the data protection policy.
